Nancy has been in legal marketing & management for over 20 years, partnering with lawyers and law firms to help them grow by strengthening relationships with their clients. After serving in the senior marketing position as the Director of Marketing at Baker & Daniels [now Faegre Drinker]. Nancy started Myrland Marketing & Social Media in 2002.
After serving on the LMA Midwest Board of Directors and various committees, Nancy was happy to serve on the 2013 and 2014 LMA International Board of Directors. She was also a founding and 6-year co-chair of the LMA Social & Digital Media SIG, served on the LMA Technology Committee, the Advocacy Advisory Council, and is an Ad min of the LMA Facebook Group. She is also honored to have been an inductee into the 2023 LMA Hall of Fame.
Starting in 2006, Nancy spent a great deal of time immersing herself in the study and integration of social media into existing marketing practices and understands how to wisely, safely, ethically, and efficiently blend all marketing practices to help lawyers and firms accomplish their goals. Being an early adopter of social and digital media, Nancy studied to become a Certified Social Media Consultant in 2009.
Nancy is called upon frequently to conduct Linked In Profile and Presence training sessions for lawyers, where she helps lawyers understand how to build a robust profile that will help others find them, and also how to use Linked In on an ongoing basis to establish and nurture relationships with those who are important to the growth of their practices. These sessions are delivered one-to-one, one-to-many, and through her online hybrid course, Linked In Course For Lawyers.
Nancy has a depth of business knowledge to share with her clients that comes from working in sales and business development in corporate America with L.M. Berry & Co. (now The Berry Company) early in her career, then in management and marketing with Time Warner, then on to law firm marketing in 1997.
